Protecting Our Wildlife
Paradise Preserved
In addition to being a beautiful place to enjoy the sun, our beach is an important nesting area for the endangered Loggerhead Sea Turtle. Hatchlings are instinctually drawn to the water by the moonlight over the Gulf of Mexico, and artificial light will disorient them.
We are committed to turning off lights by 9 p.m. nightly between May 1 and October 31.
Please Respect Resting Birds
JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort has partnered with Audubon Western Everglades and Audubon Florida to protect the birds that use this beach to rest and feed. You can help by walking calmly around the flocks and not feeding any birds.
In winter, these birds are foraging and resting to store energy for migration. In summer, they are trying to raise their chicks.
